lost 31 kg in 9 months

The benefit of those successive drops soon made itself felt. In 9 months I lost 31 kg and my wife 18.2 kg. By the end of our journey, we had totalled 53 kg between us!

Back to testimonials

It was in 2018. I had gone to my doctor for an annual check-up. And that day, he found my blood pressure high (18/10).

He said to me: "if this blood pressure persists, I think you will have to go on treatment. But we can look at things another way… You have put on a lot of weight over the years and I think that if you were to lose ten kilos or so, your blood pressure would very likely come back to normal without any need for treatment. At any rate we can try."

My first reaction was to ask him how on earth he was going to make me lose those 10 or 15 kg.

He then told me about his weight-loss programme, which he had put together a few months earlier and was trying out.

He invited me to follow it. That is how I discovered the Food Monad.

My wife was also carrying excess weight (1.57, 75 kg).

We talked it over together and we both signed up.

Seeing the curves of other patients who had followed the same programme, I felt somewhat reassured.

I set myself the goal of losing 20 kg in six months (which, all the same, I found very ambitious, and I was not at all convinced I would get there).

My wife, for her part, set herself a loss of a dozen kilos.

So we both started on 23 October 2018 and learned the principle of the Food Monad method. At first sight it struck us as both very simple and very logical.

From the first week it was rather encouraging, since I had lost more than 3 kg.

My wife had lost 2.2 kg.

To our great surprise, the weeks went by without difficulty for either of us and the kilos came off easily.

In the end I reached my goal of 20 kg in 21 weeks. I admit it took me a while to realise I had lost 20 kg. It was completely beyond anything I had hoped for!

My wife, who had less to lose, had reached 12.6 kg at 21 weeks.

Seeing that I had got there rather easily, I did not stop there.

I set myself a new goal, that of reaching a BMI of 25 (at the outset, I was at 35.7). And there, without major difficulty, I got there in nine months, reaching a loss of 31 kg.

Very surprised, and delighted to have reached that result, I set myself one last goal: to reach the weight matching my height above the metre; I stand 1.71 m. I weighed 104.4 kg at the outset. So I set myself 71 kg, an overall loss of 33 kg. It took me a whole year to get there.

This whole follow-up period was not very complicated. A weekly appointment on the site, a few pieces of information to give.

During the journey, I was sometimes faced with a few lapses, showing up as small flattenings of the curve. Those lapses had no bearing at all on the overall trend. Given how easy this method is to apply, it is in fact very simple to put right any lapses there may be.

The benefit of those successive drops soon made itself felt. I quickly saw several physical improvements:

– less breathlessness during physical activity, walking, gardening; far more suppleness — putting socks on, lacing shoes, picking things up off the floor.

– my blood pressure came back to normal after the first seven or eight kilos lost. And I still take no medicine at all!

In the end, my wife and I both found this method fairly easy to apply. Doing it together certainly made the task easier for us. We helped one another. Between us we lost more than 50 kg all the same.

A small aside

The weight settled between the ninth and the 12th month. We were able to work out calmly how to hold our weight steady.

In the end, I lost 35 kg and my wife 18 kg, making 53 kg between us!
